Do the right things

Before you focus on doing things right, make sure you do the right things. No matter how well you do something, it will not matter if it does not help you achieve your goal.

For example, in your quest to lose weight, you diligently go to the gym 5 times per week and do 30 minutes of cardio. Is that the right thing to do?

If you want to lose weight because you want to look and feel better, you probably really want to lose fat. Muscle is more dense than fat, so people who are lean tend to look better even when they weigh the same or more than people who have excess body fat.

Assuming you want to lose fat, what to do? The biggest contributor to calorie burn is your base metabolic rate. Using some of your gym sessions to build some lean muscle will likely make a bigger difference than endless cardio. Building lean muscle will help you burn more calories throughout the day and you will lose inches.

If you are struggling to achieve your goals, are you doing the right things?
