I wonder if I am the only one that avoids trying to fix things because I do not know how or I think it will be difficult or too expensive. Often, when I finally get around to trying, it is not as bad as I imagined.

This has happened to me a few times in the last year. I worry that something will cost me hundreds of dollars so I put it off. Finally, when I cannot put it off any longer, a desperate search finds some do it yourself videos and I realize I can fix it for less than $50 and a bit of effort.

This has happened enough that I now look for a fix right away. Although I do not consider myself handy around the house or with cars, I am getting more comfortable with the effort. My fear and anxiety has been replaced with satisfaction.

What would happen if you started fixing things you have been avoiding?
