As I was preparing the blog for Tuesday, I went to the site and realized that I forgot to schedule the blog for Monday morning.
WTF?!
After a little freak out, I finished the one I was writing and published it. Still published on Monday, but after the email cutoff so it got emailed with the Tuesday blog.
Then I realized what happened. I wrote “Tribes” on Sunday night, but I wanted to do a final review and Trish needed the computer for something else. I decided to finish it later, then spaced out and forgot about it.
This oversight reminded me of something else I was thinking about today. If you see something that needs to be done, do it now. The more you “do it now,” the less builds up to be done later.
As you complete more tasks now, the momentum builds and you end up more productive than you expected. There are other benefits, too.
- Get in the habit of “put it away now” and your house will be more tidy
- The more you do it now, the shorter your to do list
- Less open items means a more relaxed mind
How can you use “do it now”?
