I love the idea of the “elevator speech.” Boil your speech down to eight seconds.
You get into the elevator and run into someone that you want to engage. They ask you, “What are you up to?” Have an answer that takes eight seconds. Make it interesting and likely to raise questions. By the time the ride is over, they want to engage further.
I do not see many elevators these days, but it is still an excellent way to edit your thoughts down to what’s important. It’s also a way to check whether you can explain complex things simply.

Do you have an elevator speech?
Thanks for today’s blog. My physical therapist was asking me the name of what you do. This is a good explanation I will give to her. I really would like to have a session with you. I need to call you to talk. Love you guys.
