Living with a dog reminds me that not being able to clearly communicate can be very frustrating. It must be a challenge for our furry friends to have such a limited set of signals.

Roli has a few clear signals that we understand. Resting his head on a chair and giving you cute puppy eyes means he wants a treat. Running upstairs to the guest bedrooms means he wants to play.

Sometimes Roli gets really restless, pacing around the house, but we cannot figure out what he wants. It’s usually food or to go for a walk, but sometimes it seems that he just wants whichever one of us is away to come home. Without words it’s hard to be sure.

Words give us humans amazing potential for communication. You can clearly express your wants and needs, if you choose to do so.

How do you use the power of your words?
