I went to the gym for what looked to be a really tough workout:
3 rounds, as fast as you can
750 meter row
25 foot handstand walk
25 toes to bar (hang from a bar and bring your toes up to touch the bar)
Like all CrossFit workouts, you adjust it to your level of fitness. I expected that I would need to do something other than handstand walk. Although I love a good handstand, walking upside down is not my forte.
When I arrived to the gym, Coach Paul said he knew I would be there. He knows I love handstands, so he expected me to do the handstand walk. As I walked Roli around before class, I started thinking that maybe I could do it.
We warmed up and I tried walking a few steps. It wasn’t great, but I could walk a few steps at a time. As we got ready to start the workout, I decided I would go for it. If I don’t want to push myself, I might as well stay home.
It was as tough as expected. The 3 rounds took me just over 23 minutes. I only managed to handstand walk a few steps at a time, but I got it done. I left feeling really happy that Coach Paul expected so much of me.
Are you limiting yourself with self-doubt?
