Just because you haven’t found the solution, doesn’t mean it’s complicated.
Roli has been a big puller ever since we got him. His foster family had used a head halter, but we found it ineffective. We could control him, but he would still stiffen his neck and pull.
We switched him to an EZ Walk harness, which had worked amazingly well with Silverbear. The lead clips to the harness at Roli’s chest, reducing his leverage. It worked better than the head halter, but still not great. We thought it was because he is young compared to our previous huskies.
On the weekend, we sent him to a dog sitter who is also a dog trainer. She suggested a prong collar and we agreed to try it. After a night and a day, we got Roli back and he no longer pulls. After three years of accepting things the way they were, the solution was amazingly simple.
What challenges have you accepted that might be solved?
