When this was published, I was on my way to Bali, Indonesia. I was dreading the flights, thinking the first leg was 16 hours and the second leg another 12. When I checked in, I realized the long one is 12 hours and the short one is only 9 hours. Sweet!

It’s funny how much my outlook changed. I went from wondering how I would get through it to thinking I might not get much done if I sleep well. Good thing the flights are shorter than I expected. Imagine how I’d feel if I had underestimated.

What do you do to manage expectations (your own and other people’s)?
