Platinum beats gold

I used to believe the golden rule was the standard for treating others well. Recently, I have been reading about an even better way to behave, the platinum rule: “Treat others how they need to be treated.”

If you’re not sure how someone needs to be treated, the golden rule is a good place to start. From there, ask the person what they need and do your best to accommodate that.

Do you want people to treat you how they want to be treated or how you need to be treated?

I know, right? It is one of those things that was hard to spot, then seems obvious in hindsight.
