Trish was working on her weekly guest blog and she said she wasn’t feeling it. She switched to another draft she had in progress and still wasn’t feeling it. In the end, she fought through her malaise and got it done.

That’s one of the hallmarks of discipline. You show up and get things done even when you’re not feeling it. Repeat this often and you will accumulate a body of work.

The alternative, using motivation as fuel, is unsustainable. It’s only a matter of time until lack of motivation lets you down. Without a solid foundation of discipline, you might give up.
