As I have mentioned previously, I sometimes wonder whether social media is worth the trouble. Many of the comments I read seem either mean-spirited or a waste of time. If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. So here’s my advice:

  • If you don’t have anything nice to say, it may be better to keep your comment to yourself.
  • If you’re going to comment, add something.

What advice would you offer to improve the social media experience?

I agree, social media can turn into a bitch-fest. My tactic is to ignore what I can’t be bothered with, mainly local groups who complain about litter and parking bs. If I get unsolicited advice or unwanted comments on my posts I also ignore them rather than feeding the fire by responding :).
