One of the challenges of working from home is that anytime you’re home, you’re also at work. If your partner also frequently works at home, you can thoughtlessly work too much.
It’s even more challenging when most of the work you do at home is online. Any time you’re on the computer, you’re only a click away from doing some work. You open a window to take a quick look at something and 30 minutes goes by before you notice. Fine if you have a flash of insight upon which you want to act, but not a great every day practice.
Thankfully, Roli frequently reminds me that I spend too much time on the computer. More than few hours in the house and he starts lobbying for an adventure. A walk with fresh air and sun is a nice way to recharge. Still, it would be good to have clear boundaries around work time. Knowing is half the battle, now it’s time to make a change…
