Can you care too much?

As a business owner, can you care too much? When you put so much of your passion, time and effort into your business, it’s easy to merge your identity with the business. Is it who you are or is it what you do?

If a potential customer decides not to buy, do you feel judged? Be careful about falling into this trap. You can’t read minds and maybe they were just looking and not ready to buy. This is especially true in small retail stores. Many of us will pop in to a store just to see what it’s like and what they have. We don’t buy anything, we were just curious.

Would you rather someone consider your product and not buy or never consider it in the first place?

    Go fish!
I spent all my energy on lesson plans, hoping to spark enthusiasm & ignite my students’ desire to learn. The labs were my favorite; but there was no guarantee for success.
    It’s like fishing.
Some days the fish bite; sometimes they don’t.
If you like fishing, it really doesn’t matter.

Love it! If you enjoy the process, achieving the outcome you want is a bonus.
