Can’t vs won’t

Can’t might be one of the most overused words in our language. The next time you think or say you can’t do something, stop and ask yourself why. You might find out that you mean that you won’t.

I can’t give up wine. I love the flavors and experience of it. It’s part of my ritual for winding down and enjoying life. I can’t imagine life without the joy of wine.

Well, if you paid me a lot of money, I’d be willing to give up wine. I like it, but I can live without it. When it comes down to it, I can give it up and I’ve chosen not to at this time.
