Complaining seems to be a mechanism for avoiding change. Something bothers you, stress builds up until it hits your tolerance, then you need to either make a change or vent some stress. Many people seem to vent stress via complaining. If you find yourself complaining a lot, stop and reflect.

Are you upset about something you cannot control? Think about it and you will see this does you no good. If you cannot control the situation, accept it and save your energy for other things.

Is it something you can control and you are unhappy with the results of your choices? This is where you you can focus your effort. Make a different choice, one that is fulfilling or gives you joy.

When you are stressed, do you complain or seek a change?
