Lately, Roli has taken to digging in a corner of the backyard on an almost daily basis. This usually happens upon return from a fun outdoor adventure or a boisterous round of hide and seek in the house (his favorite game). Jim has dubbed the digging spot the “pit of celebration”.
Tonight he came back in with dirty paws and a dirty face, looking completely content with himself. I half jokingly chastised him (in a friendly tone) and he just stared at me with a goofy grin and wagged his tail. I couldn’t even be annoyed with him. I know he’s just being a dog. Other than moving a little bit of dirt and mulch around, he’s really not doing any harm. Having watched him dig like a maniac at the beach while playing with a stick, I know how much he loves this activity.
What messiness do you overlook because it brings someone else joy?
Lovely video Trish
Nice to see Roli And Jim
Personally I like digging up random thoughts when in conversation with someone who is really listening … it’s messy but a great reminder of how much is stored in there!
Watch my daughter joyfully take all the dirty washing out of basket then either get into to a t to hide or put it on her head brings the biggest of smiles to me 🙂
