Sometimes you imagine something to be so great that reality can’t possibly keep up.

I remember the first time I saw the BMW Z3 roadster. It was on display at a ski expo and it was love at first sight. As I sat in it, I dreamed of the day I would get one.

A few years later, I finally persuaded Trish that we could have a 2-seater as our main car. We would find a way to make it work.

We went to the dealer and took it for a test drive. I hated it. Looked amazing, couldn’t stand the feel of it on the road. Put the top up and couldn’t see anything. Oops, guess I don’t want one.

Have you ever finally got what you imagined and realized it’s not what you hoped?
