When you want to read a book, watch a movie or have some fun, you might have tasks that you “should” do first. If you put the chores off and jump right to fun, the “shoulds” might weigh on you, taking away some of your enjoyment.

There is a better way. Get your chores done and use your fun as a reward. Anticipating the reward could give you the motivation you need to tackle undesirable tasks. Even better, the accomplishment of knocking tasks off your list will make whatever follows feel like a well-earned break.

What do you do to make the most of your leisure time?

PS – In the long run, best to replace “I should..” with “I get to…” (That’s a post for another day.)
