The Minimalists have a clever saying, “You can’t change the people around you, but you can change the people around you.” In other words, you cannot (easily) change the behavior of the people around you, but you can change who you choose to be around.
You might not like or agree with some of things your friends do or say, but if they are your friends you should accept them as they are. If you cannot accept them, maybe you are not meant to be friends.
If you want a decent chance of success and happiness, surround yourself with people that want good things for you. Also, make sure that you want good things for the people around you.
How are you and your friends helping each other be better?
