A special day today as we celebrate Roli’s 7th birthday. Although approaching middle-age, he is as nutty as ever. He nearly bounces off the walls if stuck in the house too long and plays exuberantly every day.
When we adopted him, he was 3 years old and thin as a scarecrow. He did not seem at all like our previous Huskies, Schobel and Silverbear. The night we agreed to adopt him, I was so nervous about how he would fit in our family that I barely slept.
Luckily, my anxiety was unfounded and Roli fits in perfectly. He lazily enjoys morning cuddles, gets us out for frequent walks and inspires us to do big hikes on the weekends. He also reminds us to play every day, preferably hide and seek.
These four years with Roli have been full of ups and downs (porcupines are not much fun) and better than I imagined they would be. It’s a good reminder that you can’t judge a book by its cover and we all should live life to the fullest every day.
What do you do to make the most of every day?
Connect with Nature & be grateful. Venus is stunning tonight!
