If something is important to you, do it every day. The hardest part of a lot of habits is getting started, so get started today to build momentum. Now that you started, do it every day to keep the chain going. Some days might be just a few minutes, other days you might invest an hour or more.

There are always other things you want to do that are not as important, so do your important things first. I might want to watch a bit of television, but first I must do some writing. Sometimes I start writing and get so much momentum that I decide to skip watching TV. If I watched TV first, maybe I would not even start writing.

If you are struggling to find motivation for a new habit, find a way to make it appealing or give yourself a little reward after you do it. You want exercise or move every day? Listen to a podcast, audiobook or your favorite music while you are walking or exercising. If you need more incentive, allow yourself a small indulgence when you finish.

Knowing is only half the battle. What are you going to do today?
