I had amazing luck today. As I was walking at Lake Chocorua, Roli sniffed out some snapping turtle hatchlings. I might not have noticed them if he didn’t smell them. If we’d gone by 10 minutes earlier or later, I would have missed it.
They dug themselves out of the dirt and walked down to the water. Mum and dad nowhere to be seen, they knew exactly what to do. It’s amazing to think they’re born with the information they need to survive on their own.
What do you do by instinct?
What an amazing sight to see.
