Trish and I were discussing health and I said I wasn’t willing to optimize my health. She seemed surprised and asked me why. I want great health, but the cost of optimal health is too high. Some of the food and drink I love doesn’t optimize my health. Still, it doesn’t seem worth it to give it up.
Now that I’m thinking about it, I will make some different choices. Sometimes I eat something that’s not on the healthy list, then realize it’s wasn’t worth it. The healthy choice would have been more satisfying.
In some ways, our bodies are an autobiography of the choices we make. Making better choices each day can lead to a longer, happier story.
Do you make choices that feel good now, when other choices might be better for later? Have you thought about whether it’s worth it?
