Since Jim started on his recent mission to rid us of RBF (resting bitch face), it has become a little game we play.
We’ll be driving somewhere and I’ll be contemplating something and he’ll suddenly say something silly to make me laugh. “Gotcha!” he exclaims, “I cured you!” My knee jerk response at first was “What are you talking about? I didn’t have RBF… my expression was just neutral, wasn’t it?”
That’s when he has to break the news that my “neutral” face happens to be a little bit frown. What?! Who knew? As I have known since childhood, if you keep making that face, it will stick like that! I definitely don’t want that, so I am doing my best to think happy or amusing thoughts more often in order to turn that frown upside down.
Today we noticed that each time he cured my RBF, he also cured his own. Apparently it’s nearly impossible to wear a frown while making someone else smile or laugh. Two-for-one… what a deal!
What can you do to make other people (and yourself) smile?
