Sometimes you get so used to feeling a certain way, you don’t realize how much better you could be. The only way to find out is to try something different. For our latest experiment, Trish and I decided to give up coffee for August. Trish only dinks decaf, so it shouldn’t be too challenging for her. I usually drink a decaf and a regular coffee each day so it’s a slightly bigger change for me.
You might be thinking, “I can’t function without my coffee.” Are you exaggerating or do you really need it? If you need caffeine to function, it might be time to rethink your sleep habits. (Caffeine won’t fix the nasty side effects that come with long-term sleep deprivation.)
For most people, coffee is more of a want than a need. If it works well for you, no reason to change things up. On the other hand, if you’re not sure whether you will feel better without it, maybe go without and see how you feel.
What food or drink have you given up to see what happens?
