New Year’s Day Reflections (by Trish)

This year, instead of starting with resolutions, I’m choosing to focus first on gratitude and hope.

Jim shared lots of great ideas in his year-end blog series last week for developing a vision, goals and action plans. I’ve decided I will work on that over the coming weekend, when I will have some time to devote to working through his recommended steps. Taking a cue from his reflections blog, I put my own twist on it and decided to start the New Year with the following thought exercise to get myself heading in a positive direction for the New Year.

3 things that I am grateful for in the past year:

  1. I am so happy I was able to join the team at Discover Health FMC full time. I love being part of our community there and really enjoy helping people on their health journey.
  2. I am grateful that Jim and I have been able to offer Movement for Longevity classes together. We’ve seen some amazing transformations in ourselves and others. Plus, it’s a really fun way to kick off the weekend and spend time together.
  3. I am thankful for our home in this beautiful area of the world. We have had many friends and family visit and it’s been fun to spend time with them this year.

3 things I am looking forward to or hoping for in the New Year:

  1. Teaching a workshop at ‘Beyond the Scale” Functional Medicine Retreat in Punta Mita, Mexico at the end of February with Dr. Trish. So excited for this tropical getaway! (There’s still space. I hope some of you can join us… www.inspired-retreats.com/discover-health)
  2. More time with friends. I’ve got 2 short trips planned so far to meet up with European & UK friends. I can’t wait to catch up with some folks I’ve not seen for a while.
  3. More time with Jim & Roli exploring the great outdoors. We kicked this off by taking the snowshoes out on New Year’s Day around Echo Lake and Bryce Path. Such a beautiful place to spend our day off.

What are you grateful for and what are you looking forward to or hoping for in the New Year?
