We had a great movement workshop yesterday. As usual, we challenged people to try lots of things that they would not do on their own.

One of the things we did was lie on our backs and roll to our fronts without using our hands. It was more fun than expected and reminded people of toddlers. That is a great sign that you are doing the right things. Kids move a lot without thinking about it, as they focus on having fun.

Another drill we did was a balance exercise on its own and then to a beat. It was interesting to see people do the drill more easily when they matched steps to a beat. With their focus on the rhythm, they relaxed and forgot about the challenges of the movement.

After the workshop, we spent the afternoon with family playing tennis, then board and card games to finish the day. It’s amazing how playing games can help you forget your troubles.

How often do you play?
