The key to living a fulfilling life is captured elegantly in the Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

When you are feeling angry, frustrated or stressed out, how much of it is caused by things over which you have no control? Learning to accept the things that you cannot change can be the path to progress. Sometimes, as Ryan Holiday says, The Obstacle is the Way.

How much of what you do every day frustrates you or is not fulfilling. Are these things you cannot change, or things for which you do not yet have the courage to change? Identify one thing you can do today to improve your situation and do it. Make this part of your daily habits.

It is by thoughtfully considering the first two, taking action, then reflecting on your results that you develop wisdom to know the difference.
