Spread truth

If you want to help slow the spread of false information, focus on what’s true. Every time you mention the false information in your attempt to debunk it, it becomes more familiar to people. People tend to believe familiar things are true. Go ahead and post your thoughts, just leave out the false information and only include what’s true. The more people spread true information, the more believable it becomes.

If you’re not sure whether something is true, perhaps you should try to verify it before sharing. I’ve seen some wacky stuff recently and I doubt the people sharing stopped to find out if it’s true. One example was someone sharing something that started with, “Reported on the BBC today…” followed by a very unlikely event. If the person had gone to the BBCs website, I am sure they would have found no such thing.

What do you do to verify the information you pass on to others?

    Yup
Let’s just turn our devices off and reach out to people in need.
…Or go for a walk and keep ourselves healthy.
Time to break bad habits and start good ones.
Thank you for all the good you do for others. 😊
