Games often hold valuable lessons for life. One recent lesson I learned is that it’s unwise to assume other people think like we do.

One of my sisters brought over a new dice game last night. Each player rolls 6 dice and the other players cannot see what you have. You take turns bidding on how many of each number appear on all the players’ dice and the bidding escalates with each turn. If someone calls you out on your bid and you’re wrong, you lose. If they’re wrong, they lose.

The challenge of it is that other people might not think like you do. If you assume people think like you do and you’re wrong, you’re in trouble. To win, you need to figure out how other people think and use that to your advantage.

Do you assume other people think like you do or put yourself in their shoes and consider how they might think differently?
