The fastest way to change your emotional state may be action. Even if you believe you’re stuck in a rut, actions can override how you feel.

After Movement for Longevity class last night, a few people commented on how differently they felt. Two people had been feeling lethargic and were reenergized. Another had arrived feeling stressed and left class feeling chill and ready to face the world.

Sometimes it’s even simpler. As Trish and I have learned, making someone else laugh tends to make you laugh as well. Sometimes the momentum carries you into uncontrollable laughter and completely changes your state. It’s hard to be morose or indolent when you’re belly-laughing.

What’s your go-to action for changing your state?
