If you’ve suffered for a long time, you might even forget what it’s like to feel good. Eventually, you might believe it’s just how you are. As hard as it may be, it’s critical to know you can get better. When you know, you’ll keep looking for a solution.

Trish had mysterious aches and pains for years. The only helpful advice she received was to join a gym and get stronger. It helped, but the pain still reared its ugly head and resulted in shoulder surgery to remove inflamed bursa. She later suffered brain fog and would fall ill a few days into nearly all of our trips.

We had accepted that it was just how it was going to be. We had ruled out celiacs disease and couldn’t find any other food-related cause. We didn’t know gluten could still be an issue until we heard Dr. Perlmutter on a podcast to promote the book Grain Brain. A consult with a nutrition specialist and some tests confirmed the issue. After removing gluten and dairy from her diet, her symptoms disappeared. Now years later, she is healthier than she was in her 20s.

What would you do differently if you knew there might be a solution?
